Judy Hollis Poole

Judy Hollis Poole, of Hapeville, GA, moved to her eternal rest on August 6, 2014 after an extended illness. Judy was born March 18, 1941 in Madison, GA. She moved to Hapeville in 1947. She attended College Street School and graduated from Hapeville High School in 1960. She attended Brewton Parker College and Marsh Business College. In 1961 she met her lifelong partner and soul mate, Allen Poole. They were married in 1965. Some would say it was as close to a perfect marriage and life together as two people could experience. She and Allen traveled extensively visiting all fifty states and enjoyed meeting and having friends all over Georgia and the USA. From shortly after their marriage until her passing she was a homemaker, friend and confidante to many. She was always the life of the party. Judy was a member of the Hapeville United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Ruth Hollis, and her niece, Maria Wilson. In addition to her husband she is survived by her sisters, Marcia Hollis of Gay, GA and Ruth Hollis Schafran of Eatonton, GA, and a nephew, Kevin Schafran of Raleigh, NC. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 9th at Rutledge Cemetery in Rutledge, GA, with Rev. Paige Pritchard officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at Donehoo-Lewis Funeral Home, Hapeville. 404-761-2171
