John Newell Peacock

John Newell Peacock, 79, of East Point, died Wednesday, February 18, 2015. Mr. Peacock was retired from the U.S. Postal Service with over 25 years service, was a longtime member of East Point Christian Church, a present member of Jonesboro First Baptist Church, and was a loving husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Betty Pressly Peacock; children, John Scott Peacock, Karon & Scott Power, Kimberly Peacock Egan, Ken & Tammy Friddle, and Debra & Charles Ray; 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. A graveside memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 21st at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, with Reverends Irvin Pearre and Rand Burton officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery by 1:45. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the East Point Christian Church, 1706 Washington Road, East Point, Georgia 30344.
