Eleanor Mcmullen Chance

Eleanor McMullen Chance, 99, of Hapeville, died Sunday, April14, 2019. Eleanor was the retired Office Manager of the Atlanta Branch of Archer-Daniels-Midland Oil Company, with 30 years of service, a member of Hapeville First Baptist Church for over 70 years, where she taught the Daughters of Ruth Sunday School Class, was active in the Womens Missionary Union, and sang in the Sanctuary Choir. She served in the Airport International Chapter of Lioness Club, Hapeville Service League, and the Hapeville Exchange Club where she was elected Woman of The Year. Preceded in death by her husband, James Charles Chance, she is survived by her daughters, Jane Chance of Dalton, Charlotte (Butch) Evans of Peachtree City, Sally(Skeeter) Pierce and husband Lamar of Dalton, and Carol Aiken of Gainesville; nine grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 18th at The Westview Cemetery, with Dr. Monty Stallins officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Hapeville First Baptist Church, 612 College Street, Hapeville, GA 30354. Visitation will be Thursday from 11:00 a.m. unitl 12 Noon at Donehoo-Lewis Funeral Home, Hapeville. 404-761-2171
